Case Description:
Orli Manos Beytinu is the third sister of five from Moshav Kfar Haim.
In the middle of 2012, while five months pregnant, she collapsed and was brought to a hospital in Ashkelon. A CT scan revealed a cerebral hemorrhage in the brainstem area.
Orli was transferred to Ichilov Hospital and underwent a 5.5-hour operation, the bone above the right lobe was removed to reach and treat the bleeding.
Orly was transferred to neuro intensive care with a poor life prognosis. Her fetus weighed a mere 750 grams and a delivery kit was attached to her bed in case of emergency. She was sedated week 26 to week 33.
A daughter was born, weighing 1.570 grams, and was transferred to a nursing home for a month and a half. After about three weeks from the birth, Orli was transferred to rehabilitation at Beit Levinstein Rehabilitation Hospital, all of this completely against her doctors' advice. According to the doctors, Orli is partially conscious.
Orly underwent eight head surgeries at Ichilov Hospital over the last six months.
She stayed at Beit Levinstein for about a year and a half, followed by rehabilitation with Rabbi Führer for nearly two years. The tragedy ahs pushed us to continue caring for Orly.
We've built Orly a treatment room in the yard of our house with the help of good people who donated the expensive equipment that she needs.
Her husband divorced her due to her illness and took the girl to his parents' house. He got married and tries to interfere with the relationship between the girl and her mother.
Orly is progressing very slowly, she still doesn't speak. But she understands everything and provides her consent for everything we do.
Orly needs treatments such as: speech therapy re-learn speech, occupational therapy to stimulate reaction and movement, intensive physical therapy, hydrotherapy treatments as well as other rehabilitation devices.
