34 year old Luna was full of dreams and plans until two serious work accidents in 2015 and 2016 turned her world upside down and left her with pain that no one should have to endure.
Over the years, Luna has gone from doctor to doctor in search of hope. She was diagnosed with severe fibromyalgia and most recently with CRPS syndrome - a rare disease of the nervous system that causes unbearable pain. Today, Luna is wheelchair-bound and has to deal with daily pain that simply doesn't let her live.
Doctors in Israel have exhausted all options. "We have nothing more to offer you," they told Luna. But Luna didn't give up, and her family didn't give up.
After a long search, a specialized medical center in the United States was found that agreed to accept her for an innovative treatment for her nervous system. The doctors there told her something she hadn't heard in years: "There is hope."
Luna was accepted to the center in June for six months of treatment, but the first treatment costs about $54,000, in addition to the costs of accommodation and living. For a family that has already exhausted all resources, this amount seems like an insurmountable mountain.
