Gila was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 cancer that was part of a hereditary Lynch syndrome that affected other members of her family .
In light of her complex medical condition, she was not deemed suitable for routine treatment (chemotherapy/radiation/surgery), but was found suitable for immunotherapy treatment with the Opdivo drug (Nimolumab), which unfortunately is not in her health insurance, though may save her life.
This life-saving medicine is expensive and costs about $6,200 per month!
