Around 15 years ago, 8-year old Michael went for a ride on his bicycle and collided with a truck.
His mother took him to a specialist in Moldova and Chisinau, where he was diagnosed with corneal dystrophy. Today, Michael only sees 9% in both eyes.
Luckily for him, Ichilov Medical Center received his medical file and advised him to get an accurate diagnosis of the gene responsible for the dystrophy. They also recomended targeted treatment for restoration of his vision. Without treatment, Michael will end up completely blind.
The cost of the flights and accomodations, diagnosis and treatment is approximately US$ 7,000.
