Case Description:
Sasson Simon has been suffering from the degenerative disease ALS for several years.
In recent years, there has been a significant deterioration in his condition. He receives oxygen and is unable to eat, receiving food directly into his stomach.
There is also a significant decrease in hisability to speak and communicate with his surroundings.
Today, Sasson stays home with a caregiver, monitored by his Health Maintenance Organization.
Given the complexity of his condition, Sasson requires assistance 24 hours a day in all areas, including medical assistance. Also, the range and level of his needs have increased and many preparations and resources are required in order for him to be able to function at home, which includes, among other things, an additional caregiver, special equipment and medications.
Along with the high increase in expenses, Sasson's retirement mean his salary was significantly reduced and he is facing is a real difficulty in meeting his daily needs.
