Ilanit was diagnosed in 2019 with metastatic colorectal cancer of the liver. She underwent surgery to remove the tumors but when the cancer continued to spread, she underwent chemotherapy and biological treatments. However, the cancer continued to spread.
The treatments to this day are no longer suitable to treat the cancer spread. Now the doctor treating her recommends treatment with a combination of two medications that are not covered by her health insurance. The cost of this treatment per month is about 12,279 NIS.
